Transitional Design’s Online Auctions present an innovative online shopping experience. Customers may browse and participate in auctions from the comfort of their homes, at any time that suits their schedules.

Each auction is distinct, offering a diverse selection of items—from small collectibles to substantial furniture pieces, and everything in between. In addition, we occasionally feature vehicles such as cars, motorcycles, boats, trailers, and campers.

First, here are some terms and simple processes you need to know before starting your online auction journey. Knowing these terms and processes will help make it easy to view, place and win your bids.

  • Our online auctions feature a staggered closing format. The first two lots will close at the designated time, followed by the next two lots one minute later, and so on until all lots have closed. If a bid is placed within the final two minutes of a lot’s scheduled closing time, the closing time will automatically extend to two minutes from the time of the most recent bid.
  • This extension will continue in the same manner until no further bids are placed. A lot officially closes when its countdown timer reaches zero.
  • The winning bidder is the last individual whose bid is recorded in the bid history before the timer expires.

  • When you place a bid on an online auction item, you enter into a legally binding contract to purchase the item from the seller if you are the winning bidder. You become the winning bidder if your bid is the highest bid at Auction Close and your bid is accepted by the seller.

  • Once you have placed and confirmed a bid, your bid cannot be retracted.

Below you’ll find frequently asked questions about our online auction process.

  • To place a bid on an item, you must first be a registered bidder and be logged into your account. Click on the “Register for an Account” button above to create an account if you don’t have one.
  • Click on the item that you wish to bid on, put the dollar amount that you wish to bid in the box. Please note that you can enter a max bid.
  • You will only be charged that max amount if the item is bid up to that price.  Otherwise, you will pay the next bidding increment of the previous bid.
  • If you have the high bid you will see a notice on the screen. If someone has placed a higher max bid, you will see a notice that you have been outbid. You always have the option to raise your bid.

  • You can enter the highest amount that you are willing to bid.  The system will automatically place a bid on your behalf for the lowest amount possible up to your maximum bid using an incremental bidding system.
  • This allows you to remain the highest bidder for the online auction and your proxy bid will remain confidential to all parties, including Transitional Design.

  • If a bid is entered in the last 2 minutes of the lot closing, then the time will be extended by 2 minutes to ensure sufficient time for bidders to submit their bids
  • This will continue until no bids are placed within the last 2 minutes.

  • Yes, you can come to our location during our store hours to view the items prior to placing a bid.

  • You will receive an invoice the evening of the online auction closing. Your credit card on file will automatically be billed.

  • A buyer’s premium is a percentage added to the winning bid and is payable as part of the total purchase price to the auctioneer.
  • Sales tax is not applicable to the buyer’s premium.

  • Most of our online auction items are housed at our facility at 601 Towpath Rd., Broadview Heights, OH 44147. You will pick up your items at the back of the building in Unit H.
  • We occasionally have online auctions from a customer’s residence, which will be noted in the auction description. In that case, the winning bidder will be notified of the address when they receive their invoice. For those types of auctions, the winning bidder will need to pick up their item at that location and during the pickup window.

  • Our pickup times are Wednesdays from 2 to 7 PM and Saturdays from 10 AM to 4 PM.
